This is a larger home with a larger program that called out for a guest house on the second floor.

In order to blend with its surroundings, a warm-toned material palette was chosen. This included earth tones in the plaster and tiled walls.

The horizontal elements; such as the long bands we see at the garage and guest house, helped flattened the otherwise heavy, vertical massing of the residence.

From the motor court, it's easy to notice the horizontal mullions, horizontal translucent glass in the front gate, and the gently-sloping metal roofs.
